This course is designed for absolute beginners wanting to learn the craft of jewellery making. You will receive a comprehensive introduction to metals and various techniques that will enable you to make a small series of jewellery pieces. Tuition is provided by experienced tutors and professional jewellers in a supportive learning environment. You will learn how to saw, drill, file, clean, texture, form and solder in a friendly workshop setting. No experience is necessary.

You will learn how to make a ring, firstly in copper and then in sterling silver. You will then move on to making jump rings and basic findings.
Anvil Studios will provide two saw blades, a small sheet of base metal and cups of tea. Students who would like to buy precious metals may discuss this with the tutor in the first class. Students can also buy consumables like saw blades and drill bits from Anvil Studios during class.
