PERMANENT WORKSPACE RESIDENTS

Anvil Studios offers professional studio space for contemporary jewellers, small object makers or designers.  The studio aims to provide a community-based environment where makers and designers can meet and share resources, skills, equipment and ideas.  We believe that an integral part of the studio is to interact with our communities, both local and jewellery-based by facilitating a range of opportunities to achieve this including exhibitions and workshops.

 

Within our studio, there are six spaces available to permanent renters who have access to soldering and annealing hearths, a wet bench area, polisher, rolling mill, dremels and smithing tools, as well as a fabulous resource library.

• Permanent spaces are 3m² and cost $390 per month.

• A refundable bond of $100 will also be required to secure your space.

 

Permanent tenants have access to all of the above facilities as well as:

• 24 hour/7 day access

• Good security

• Shared resource library and equipment

• Use of exhibition space

 

Applicants must have a tertiary qualification in jewellery design or equivalent, with an interview prior to acceptance also required.

 

Conditions:

• Rent and bond to be paid in advance

• Monthly rental to be paid by bank automatic payment or direct debit

• Initial 3 month trial period

• One month’s notice of leaving 

• All tenants are required to have their own public liability, product and contents insurance

• Be available to manage the studio for casual renters when occasionally required
